Rising Tide Interactive is seeking an experienced video editor and manager to join our team as Associate Director of Video Production. The Associate Director of Video Production (ADVP) will build, lead, and collaborate with a team of editors (in-house, contractor, partner firms) who conceptualize and create video content that persuades and moves target audiences. The ADVP will bring experience creating video content in a fast-paced environment and an eagerness to push the envelope and constantly improve RTI’s creative strategy. 

As part of the Creative leadership team, you will: 

  • Create and edit digital videos from start to finish utilizing motion and visual effects, graphics, composited text, original and stock footage, animation 

  • Build, manage, mentor, and lead a team of in-house editors to create compelling video content for a variety of digital platforms, translating edits and goals into concrete actions editors can take to improve deliverables 

  • Direct external production partners and source and manage additional production vendors and contractors as needed

  • Manage and optimize file and footage storage and sharing in an all-remote environment and maintain RTI’s technical equipment

  • Collaborate with members of the Creative and Client Strategy teams to conceptualize videos in pre-production, ensure brand and messaging consistency on high-level video content in production, and identify opportunities for collaboration and improvement throughout the process

  • Ensure our commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion is integrated into all of our work

  • Actively participate in senior staff discussions and decision-making, as well as in business development and marketing

The Associate Director of Video Production reports to the Vice President of Creative, and frequently collaborates with Partners, VPs, creative staff, and client strategy staff on both internal and client-facing work.

We’re looking for:

  • Expert level proficiency in Adobe Creative suite, particularly Adobe After Effects and Adobe Premiere Pro

  • A proven record creating political/advocacy and/or digital advertising video content in a fast-paced environment in editor and producer roles

  • Experience managing video editors and leading them to produce their best work

  • Demonstrated experience managing and troubleshooting media management platforms and solutions

  • Professional demeanor; ability to communicate well with creatives and non-creatives at all levels and ability to navigate relationships with other creatives

  • An understanding of the importance of cultural competencies when speaking to diverse audiences

  • Knowledge of the entire video production process and experience creating video for a variety of platforms

  • Exceptional attention to detail, a strong sensibility for compelling pacing, sound, graphic and type design, and knowledge of how to capture people’s attention on digital platforms

  • Ability to shepherd a video concept or client goal into an effective, engaging video that’s on message, whether it’s generating entirely new creative concepts or creatively repurposing proven messages and concepts

  • Flexibility and resilience; ability to meet deadlines and work around obstacles by creatively solving problems with work output and communicating clearly with the team 

  • Evolving understanding of the most up-to-date video software, tactics, and trends, ready to pivot whenever platforms change their rules, audiences begin to react differently, or test results provide insight into new best practices

Relevant details:

  • Salary band: $85,000-$95,000

  • This is a full-time, exempt position and evening and weekend work can be expected at key points during the election cycle.

  • This position is based in our office in Washington, DC. Due to COVID-19, all employees have the option of remote work through at least January 2023.
