Through our Authors-in-Schools program, Wondermore connects students with authors and illustrators of diverse backgrounds and perspectives. During these visits, students delve deeply into the inspiration behind books, learn about the writing and publishing process, have meaningful conversations about characters and themes that exist within the books, and much more. By creating these special moments between young readers and the creators of children’s literature, we strive to spark a lifelong love of reading in students. We endeavor for all children to see themselves in the books they read, and we hope that sharing culturally inclusive books will plant seeds of empathy and understanding in students that may be carried into their adult lives. Our programming primarily serves students in grades K-12 in public and charter schools in and around Boston, with an emphasis placed on Title I schools. We work closely with librarians and teachers so our author visits advance classroom curriculums.
