The EC PRISM team, in the Center for Translational Neuroscience within the Department of Psychology, is seeking a Consultant to work with early childhood organizations providing individualized consulting services in the areas of early childhood program design, implementation, measurement, evaluation, and scale. The Consultant will lead consulting engagements by working with organizations to provide content expertise in the areas of early educational program delivery. The successful candidate will have significant experience in providing consulting services to nonprofit organizations and/or city, state, and federal agencies. Areas of content expertise may include, but are not limited to, early intervention, special education, primary education, pediatrics, home visiting, Head Start, and childcare. The Consultant will have some experience supporting organizations in developing and tracking social impact metrics (e.g., Key Performance Indicators), as well as general expertise in assisting organizations in measuring the social impact of their programs. The Consultant will have significant experience following consulting frameworks as well as strong facilitation skills. No neuroscience training or background is needed for this position.
The Consultant will lead consulting engagements with nonprofit organizations as well as public institutions in the areas of early childhood program design, implementation, measurement, and evaluation. Consulting services will draw on the Consultant’s content expertise to deliver services to clients. The Consultant will also write reports and briefs as part of service delivery. The Consultant will work closely with Research Specialists when delivering consulting services. The Consultant will also serve as a facilitator and presenter at EC PRISM community events, utilizing content-specific knowledge & fidelity expertise to inform internal model development processes.
The Consultant will provide guidance, training, and advisement to other staff and volunteers as needed. The Consultant will report to the Technical Assistance Coordinator and will also work closely with the EC PRISM Director on delivery of consulting services.
This position may require up to 35% travel.
The Center for Translational Neuroscience (CTN) is a center within the Department of Psychology whose mission is to translate knowledge from basic neuroscience and apply it to improve well-being, promote resilience, and mitigate the effects of early adverse experiences.
The Psychology department, located within the College of Arts and Sciences, is one of the largest departments supporting significant instructional and research activities in a wide range of fields within the discipline. The Department enrolls about 1,900 students per term, with approximately 300 undergraduate Psychology majors and 80 doctoral students, and includes approximately 35 teaching faculty, emeriti faculty, research staff, graduate students, and professional/administrative staff. • Advanced degree (i.e., MA/MBA/MPP/MSW/MPH, etc.)
• Three years of experience in the education or healthcare sector (or other relevant experience), including experience providing consulting or other relevant client services (i.e., report writing) to nonprofit organizations and/or public systems
• Demonstrated high-level organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task effectively in a fast-paced, detail-oriented, and time-sensitive environment
• Demonstrated strong written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work in a group or independently

• Experience developing consulting frameworks and materials
• Experience in early childhood education
• Experience leading primary research activities during consulting engagements, such as qualitative research techniques (focus groups, 1:1 interviewing)
• Experience in project management
