The Vice President, Direct Marketing will be responsible for the strategic planning and execution of direct response fundraising campaigns across channels for 10+ organizations and brands within the Stand Together community. 

  

Your Responsibilities Include

  • Develop a strategic plan to support and drive short-and long-term integrated direct response fundraising efforts targeted at expanding our mid-level and house file partners.  
  • Set that fundraising goals, acquisition targets, stewardship plans and ensure these goals tier up to the overall team fundraising goals and where possible, integrate with the customer journey. 
  • Oversee concept development, production, and execution of new and existing direct response activities, including but not limited to direct mail, online/web fundraising, direct response television, and telemarketing efforts. 
  • Cultivate and manage vendor partnerships. Oversee maintenance and tracking of direct response donor retention programs and membership strategies. 
  • Lead a team of six direct mail, digital marketing, and mid-level partnership advisors. 
  • Collaborate with consultants and vendors in the planning, development, execution, and evaluation of all integrated direct response campaigns. 
  • Leverage insights from campaign and database analytics (response rates, market segmentation, etc.) to develop effective data-driven initiatives. 
  • Experiment with new ways to maximize the giving potential of present and lapsed donors, evaluate future acquisition strategies and donor upgrade programs, and identify new technologies and tools to maximize touchpoints along donor journeys.

Qualifications

Knowledge and Skills You Bring to the Organization

  • 8+ years of direct hands-on marketing experience leading strategic initiatives and defining goals for a team; at least 5 years managing a marketing and/or partnerships team. 

  • Proven track record of developing, executing, and managing multi- and cross-channel marketing strategies with a knack for experimentation and thinking outside of the box. 

  • Advanced knowledge of effective direct response and mid-level fundraising tactics and best practices. 

  • Demonstrated ability to create and lead high-performing teams. 

  • Demonstrated initiative with the ability to adapt quickly to changing organizational needs and priorities. 

  • Ability to collaborate in a highly matrixed organization.
