Job Description

The Innovation Project Manager plays a critical role on Commonwealth’s Accelerator team to scale innovative solutions to support financially vulnerable people building financial security and opportunity.  This position is perfect for you if you have 3+ years of professional experience, you understand the role of the private and public sector in supporting financial security and you have experience effectively communicating and working with internal and external partners. Bringing exceptional project management skills, the Innovation Project Manager will work on multiple projects with a small team that is passionate about having a positive and scalable impact.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee projects and project teams through task management, organization and disciplined follow up.
  • Manage and support relationships with external partners, such as financial institutions, employers, payroll providers, financial technology (fintech) companies, and retirement plan providers to implement financial security interventions.
  • Plan and conduct supportive research such as surveys, in-depth interviews, and desk research to support work with external partners
  • Conduct analyses of research and project impacts and share insights and findings with partners
  • Develop business communications, including memos, slide decks, and meeting agendas for new and existing partners
  • Employ strong interpersonal skills to coordinate work of colleagues on project teams.
  • Creatively problem-solve and collaborate with a small, results-oriented team to effectively keep projects on track toward both short-term milestones and long-term strategic objectives.
  • Write both online and print communication that describes the findings from the work.
  • Contribute to a positive organizational culture including an appetite for learning, eagerness to support colleagues and engaged participation on project teams.
  • May supervise interns.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in product/service design, financial services, the financial empowerment field, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with the role of the private and public sector in financial security
  • Familiarity with financial technology innovations and the financial lives of low-and-moderate income households.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to track and support multiple complex projects with close attention to detail and timelines.
  • Ability to work both collaboratively as part of a team and independently to achieve goals and timelines.
  • Aptitude for analytic reasoning and the use of data to inform decision-making.
  • Ability to develop creative solutions to problems as they arise and the judgment and flexibility  to know when to call on colleagues or a supervisor for support.
  • Ability to build relationships and work with a diverse range of colleagues and external partners.
  • Passionate about the mission of Commonwealth and driving social change through promoting financial security and opportunity for the financially vulnerable.
