Director, Center for Financial Success

Connecting for Children and Families (CCF)

Pay range: $60,000 –$70,000

Reports to: Executive Director


Position Summary:


The Director of CCF’s Center for Financial Success will be responsible for the research, communications, and continuous improvement activities that support the Center. Maintaining strong partnerships with internal and external partners, the Director will demonstrate creativity and resourcefulness to identify and secure the necessary internal and external resources to ensure efficient and effective execution of all Workforce Development, Financial Empowerment and Basic Needs initiatives. This includes but is not limited to: customized training and workforce development programs; financial education programming and coaching; Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program; and family support programs.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the Center’s staff and provide them with all required and available tools and resources to accomplish their assignments.
  • Formulate, implement and review short- and long-term program goals, policies, and plans.
  • Prepare grant applications for federal, state, and private funds.
  • Prepare, monitor, and control the Center’s budget.
  • Design and administer training and employment programs; financial education programs; VITA program; basic needs programs; health and wellness programs.
  • Evaluate the operations of the Center for Financial Success.

Education and Work Experience Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Vocational Training or Counseling, Public or Business Administration, or related field required.  Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience working with low-income families in one or more of the following areas: financial goal setting; tax return preparation and review process; budgeting; credit building/rebuilding and debt repayment; utilization of quality financial services; and asset development.
  • Minimum of four years administrative experience in workforce development, employment or vocational counseling, employee assistance counseling, skill assessment and training, financial coaching and financial education, credit counseling and coaching, tax return preparation and review; case management or related experience.
  • Knowledge of federal and state public income support programs, benefits programs and systems, and Rhode Island family support programs.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
