Job Status:  Full-time, Exempt

Salary Range: $76,500-$94,000

Position Summary

The Associate Director, Program + Impact is a trusted partner for the Director, and together they lead Umoja’s Impact Team to deliver high quality services (both virtually and in-person) to a variety of professional development partners across the United States. The Associate Director is primarily responsible for developing and managing the internal systems that support this dynamic work. From onboarding to invoicing to data engagement, the Associate Director will lead to ensure the team has the role-specific knowledge and tools needed to succeed. Further, the Associate Director is a key connector who actively collaborates across Umoja’s teams and with external stakeholders to support partner service delivery and internal team member development. 

Location

Travel to partner sites throughout the Chicagoland Area, including Far North Suburbs, will be required and regionally and/or nationally as the work expands. Additionally, we are committed to a long-term flexible, hybrid work model. Umoja’s office is where we gather for collaboration and culture-building, and available for deep focus work when needed.

Essential responsibilities and duties include but are not limited to:

Service Model + Delivery

  • Manage internal systems, structures, and relationships with team members to ensure high service quality and fidelity to the Wellness Framework and strategic priorities
  • Coordinate the creation and usage of best practice service delivery materials and training for staff
  • With the Director, plan and facilitate Impact Team Leadership Meetings, Impact Team Department Meetings, and all other regular and occasional collaborations
  • Manage the timely collection of partnership agreements and related data entry
  • Oversee the earned revenue invoicing process and collaborate with the Finance Team to ensure timely, accurate invoicing, payment, and data entry
  • Oversee team’s data collection efforts to ensure timely and accurate data entry
  • Support continuous improvement efforts by regularly reviewing and analyzing program data and utilizing it to inform decision making
  • Support the development and administration of program budget

Partnerships

  • Manage relationships with and provide services to a portfolio of assigned partners, as needed 
  • Collaborate with Director in partner recruitment, partner relationship management, partner deliverable fulfillment, partner roll-off/exit strategies, and partnership cycle documentation to meet established goals
  • Collaborate with the Impact Growth Team to effectively manage new partner onboarding and service adjustment requests
  • Manage relationships with program-related external consultant(s) as requested
  • Coordinate with Umoja staff to implement high quality special events (e.g. Senior Day of Action, funder visits, etc.)
  • Maintain relationships with key external stakeholders, including external collaboratives to which Umoja belongs, as needed

  • Work closely with Umoja’s Leadership Team to develop and implement strategic plans

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of relevant experience, including 3+ years of team leadership experience
  • Commitment to educational equity and restorative practices
  • Ability to build trusting, impactful relationships with a diversity of stakeholders
  • Ability to communicate in an effective and compelling manner both orally and in writing
  • Proficiency in Google Office and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint and Excel)
  • Skilled at cross-team collaboration and communication
  • Flexible and skilled at navigating a fast-paced work environment 
  • Independent thinker and problem-solver, with strong ability to manage projects and time 
  • Demonstrated experience utilizing a relational database (ie, Salesforce)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in the areas of Education, Social Work, Youth Development
  • Experience working in a large urban school district
  • Project management experience
