About the role
We are looking for someone with 3+ years of nonprofit fundraising experience who is interested in grant writing, research, project management, and development operations. The Development Manager will be an effective writer with experience crafting compelling grant proposals, as well as an organized project manager who is able to create and maintain systems for coordinating multiple streams of work. We are building our development team from the ground up, with ambitious plans for growth, and we hope to find a candidate with a startup mentality who is excited to help us build. You will report to the VP of Growth & Development, and will occasionally support the incoming Director of Marketing and Communications as well.
There are a few key areas that we need this person to take on, focused mostly on writing, research, and development operations.
Grants: Writing compelling grant proposals and reports; managing the grant application and reporting calendar
CRM: Initially, this person will project manage the conversion to a new CRM and will be the lead in ensuring we’re using the functionality as designed
Development Operations: Processing donations, writing acknowledgment letters, tracking notes and key next steps in CRM
Prospect Research: Researching current and growing list of prospects, managing the tracking of prospects
Support Marketing & Communications: Provide project management and writing support to the incoming Director of Marketing and Communications
At least 3 years of full-time experience as a nonprofit development professional
Demonstrated strength in writing, preferably with experience writing grants for private foundations
Compensation — salary starting from $70,000, negotiable, commensurate with expertise and experience
Other Benefits — $400/mo reimbursement for health insurance premiums/expenses, subsidized parental leave, 401(k) program (not matched), short- and long-term disability insurance, life and AD&D insurance, $1,000 annual professional development budget
