Development Associate

Expect Miracles Foundation is currently seeking a Development Associate to join our small, hardworking team to help advance our mission to improve the lives of people impacted by cancer. This person will be responsible for securing event sponsors and managing relationships with those sponsors, developing and managing relationships with individual donors, and providing support around all the Foundation's fundraising efforts.

This position is perfect for someone with prior experience working in a fundraising role, who is goal-driven, personable, and willing to learn within an organization with a small staff. This person will report to the Managing Director of Stewardship and work collaboratively with colleagues on the programs, events, and communications teams.

Specific responsibilities will include:

• Securing event and campaign sponsorships and maintaining relationships with sponsors
• Coordinating the virtual year-end fundraising campaign
• Outreach to attendees/donors after each event
• Managing communications and maintaining relationships with individual donors
• Gift management, including tracking offline donations and mailing hard copy thank you letters as needed
• Providing support to remote volunteers participating in peer-to-peer online fundraising
• Helping to coordinate or support virtual events as well as onsite fundraising efforts at in-person events
• Engaging in other assorted fundraising-related tasks, as needed.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a fundraising role
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact comfortably and confidently with Board members, program alumni and volunteers, and individual donors
• Experience working with Excel a must; experience with Salesforce a plus; experience in the financial services industry a bonus
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
