We are a non-profit that provides 24/7 life-saving support via phone, text, and chat. We also operate the world’s largest safe space social networking site for LGBTQ youth and run innovative research, education, and advocacy programs. We’ve been saving lives every day for over 20 years.



Overview of the role

The Trevor Project believes that long-term, dynamic corporate partnerships are imperative to our  work of providing suicide prevention and crisis intervention services for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning (LGBTQ) young people. As the Senior Corporate Partnerships Manager, you will be responsible for strategic management of a portfolio of corporate partners and a team of direct reports (2-3) to build sustainable, long-term, revenue generating partnerships for Trevor’s mission.  As a strong deal-maker with deep knowledge of private/non-profit partnerships, you will interface with executives of Fortune 500 companies to identify and initiate new contacts, establish long-term relationships, strengthen existing partnerships, and secure significant funding to support Trevor’s life-saving programs. You will act as a key leader on the team in partnership with the Director of Corporate Partnerships. You will serve as a people manager supporting all aspects of partnership management for your team’s portfolios. You will ensure processes and systems are efficient and scalable and serve as an expert in growing our corporate partnerships program to bring in more sustainable funding for our life-saving mission.

  • Collaborative relationship builder. You understand relationships are at the core of any successful partnership and know how to build strong business and personal relationships. You’re a natural collaborator, curious, and believe that for you to win, the team has to win. You inspire others to follow your vision.  You build trust not only with corporate partners, but also with other leaders internally at Trevor and with your direct reports -- creating relationships that empower your colleagues and direct reports to do their best work in service of our corporate fundraising goals. 
  • Experienced. You have significant experience (3-4+ years minimum) in nonprofit/corporate partnership fundraising, sales, business development, and/or strategic partnerships, You’ve worked on complex national non-profit/for-profit partnerships generating a minimum of $100k+, ideally $500K+. You are a leader in building partnerships with a deep understanding of how to create and move leads through a pipeline, fully owning each part of the sales process and thinking creatively about how to identify opportunities, grow relationships, and increase revenue. 
  • Strong People Manager. You have a track record overseeing high performers. You understand how to work with direct reports to accomplish collective goals, such as through leveraging coaching to grow skills, building team-wide processes, giving and receiving feedback, and ensuring results. 
  • Knowledgeable. You know the value corporations bring to nonprofits (and vice versa) and are skilled in identifying how such mutually beneficial relationships can be deployed to reach an organization's mission. You recognize what the ingredients of a successful and impactful cause marketing campaign are.  
  • Flexible. You are comfortable navigating ambiguity and working through competing priorities, while guiding your direct report to do the same. You are able to travel up to 30% of the time (once it’s safe to do so).  
  • Organized and efficient. You know how to manage multiple complex projects meeting tight deadlines. Two of your favorite words are “process” and “systems,” and you know how to work with cross-functional partners to develop the best ways to collaborate. You work smart, not just hard. You have a strong attention to detail and consistently deliver work that is error-free and comprehensive based on the needs of both internal and external stakeholders.  
  • Culturally Competent.  You are conscious of the intersectional nature of power, privilege and oppression.  You are willing to learn more about marginalized identities, and bring your awareness to all the work you do. You are able to communicate the importance of intersectionality, experience and needs of marginalized communities, and the role of corporations in this work to executives and leaders in the for-profit sector.

What you’ll do

  • Lead partnerships with some of Trevor’s largest existing corporate partners ($500K+ partnerships), including building strategy, leading pitches, identifying new opportunities, and ultimately working towards substantial growth at our highest partnership tiers. and Serve as a people manager to 2-3 members of the Corporate Partnerships team, providing support and leadership to reach team-wide goals together
  • Contribute to building an evolving corporate partnership model at Trevor. Serve as a leader on our team, bringing new ideas and ways to build, scale, and manage corporate partnerships. As part of this, ensure current processes/systems across the team are aligned with our goals, and help build new processes/systems that meet our needs as our team and our cross-functional collaboration continue to grow. 
  • Guide your corporate partners through each step of the sales cycle -- from prospecting to pitching to contracting, partnership launch, partnership execution, and renewal. Become an expert in how Trevor can partner with companies in your verticals (i.e. retail, food & beverage, finance & banking, etc.)
  • Project manage and track deliverables for current partnerships with stakeholders across Trevor, ensuring seamless execution to drive them to success and long-term growth   
  • Ensure all partnerships you manage follow industry best practices -- centering Trevor’s impact, meeting legal requirements, and promoting inclusion for the diverse LGBTQ community
  • Oversee successful execution of cause marketing campaigns in collaboration with Trevor’s marketing and communications teams   
  • Help develop compelling proposals working alongside program and finance leadership. Track partnership impact against our goals in collaboration with program, finance, and marketing teams to communicate back to partners and show our progress  
  • Represent Trevor’s mission in presentations for corporate partners and audiences 
  • Be a liaison between corporate partners and internal teams by helping to align on shared vision, goals, and projects -- while navigating any challenges that may arise with a positive, solutions-orientation  
  • Build strong professional relationships with corporate partners leadership  
  • Other tasks, duties, or special projects as assigned
