The Holdsworth Center is a non-profit organization founded and largely funded by Charles Butt, Chairman of H-E-B, a regional retail company. Our mission is to impact, over time, the quality of K-12 public education for all Texas students by supporting and developing leaders. Based in Austin, Texas, our campus and programs are being developed in honor of Charles’ mother, Mary Elizabeth Holdsworth Butt, who was an educator, a philanthropist, and a lifelong champion for social justice.
We partner with public school districts over five years to help them grow outstanding leaders at all levels so that staff thrive, and students excel in every classroom. At Holdsworth, we believe leadership isn’t just about titles. We make a deep investment in leaders at both the district and campus levels, including teachers who lead students in the classroom and influence and lead their colleagues.
The Holdsworth Center is seeking a Lead Learning Facilitator who shares a deep commitment to our mission and whose experience and vision will deepen our capacity and enhance our impact as we aim to be of service to public school districts across the state of Texas.
The Lead Learning Facilitator will work in a team overseen by the Director of CLP to provide high-quality facilitation for principals and campus teams (leaders) during sessions of our two-year Campus Leadership Program (CLP), a world-class leadership development program for principals and campus teams that blends the best practices in leadership from inside and outside the education sector. Alongside Lead Learning Designers, who design our curriculum in detail, a team of contracted Leadership Facilitators who support the delivery of sessions and provide continuous improvement support to campuses in the program, and other CLP staff, you will guide cohorts of leaders through the comprehensive, two-year program.
You must have a strong desire to help leaders in our programs thrive in their careers and lead their campuses effectively. We are looking for individuals who share our passion for developing leadership in public education in order to increase excellent and equitable outcomes for all students.
Reporting to the Director of CLP, you will work with talented, mission driven peers in a fast paced, dynamic environment to:
- Serve as one of the primary faculty of CLP, facilitating learning experiences during sessions that give leaders context to the learning, increase coherency of the overall program, and reinforce critical messages
- Leverage materials and content that have already been developed by the team to deliver highly engaging and thought-provoking world-class learning to leaders to ensure maximum impact from their training and successful implementation of their learning at their campuses
- Use our equitable facilitation principles to deliver effective and engaging learning experiences that bring cohorts together over a two-year journey, building a psychologically safe environment where leaders can effectively collaborate on a range of issues to grow their capacity and ability to lead sustainable campus improvement towards excellent and equitable outcomes for students
- Establish and maintain key relationships with leaders and Holdsworth staff
- Work with all active CLP cohorts (alongside the Director of CLP), to deeply understand, track and consistently drive the learning journey of campus leaders in both Year 1 and Year 2 of the program simultaneously
- Tailor facilitation approach to each cohort’s size and needs, which may vary from approximately 30 to 150 leaders at any given point in the program
- Continuously improve own skills and support skills improvement of the team; support processes for assuring all facilitation and continuous improvement support delivered through Holdsworth is of the highest quality

- Demonstrated commitment to and engagement in learning and actions to promote equity for all students
- Experience delivering high quality adult learning/training and proven ability to facilitate engaging, challenging, and thought-provoking discussion among diverse audiences, manage group dynamics, and use questioning techniques to identify solutions and actions rather than taking a wholly directive approach, skillfully traversing the line between facilitating and teaching, contingent on the subject matter
- Experience in a leadership development and/or adult learning role (any sector) equivalent in scale and scope to this role, supporting the development of leaders of organizations through programmatic delivery and job-embedded change projects, encouraging a commitment to action and the development of lasting personal growth and change
- Ability to quickly synthesize complex information and create clear and compelling learning experiences and materials across a variety of leadership development content
- Highly collaborative work style and ability to work well in a team environment, establish good rapport at all levels of the organization, collaborate with other faculty and experts and work with and relate to people from diverse backgrounds
- Experience working in or with K-12 campuses, preferably in Texas
- Demonstrated ability to thrive and lead in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, to adapt to an ever changing, growing organization and to bring structure to highly ambiguous or complex topics
- Self-motivated individual who demonstrates initiative without waiting for direction, openness to receiving feedback from peers and Holdsworth staff, and deep curiosity and motivation to learn coupled with a strong results-orientation
- Superb time management and organizational skills; ability to independently prepare for / facilitate multiple events at one time at a rapid pace while maintaining a high-level of quality
- Credibility with school leaders, faculty/experts, and our partner organizations and working knowledge of the education landscape in Texas, including knowledge of the context within which our Leaders work
- Ability to travel for events
