POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Advisor for Institutional Advancement is responsible for the strategy and cultivation of major gift operations, and the cultivation of HNI and UHNI prospects to benefit the University

RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary Duties:

  • Define and pursue a comprehensive, effective program and cultivation strategies for engagement and stewardship of past, current and future donors that more closely ties these donors to the life of the School.
  • Build and manage a portfolio of 90-125 prospects capable of making six and seven-figure gifts to Plaksha. Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward prospects; execute appropriate communication, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship plans for each prospect.
  • Expected to complete 50 visits per year, solicit between 30-40 gifts per year, and close between 10-15 gifts per year for a total of $5-$7 million. These constituencies may include: your HNI and UHNI networks, corporations, foundations, and/or other affiliated or unaffiliated constituencies.
  • Utilize Salesforce to generate leads, manage contact with current and prospective donors in a proactive manner and ensure submission of regular reports, invitations to galas, events, projects, etc.
  • Manage donor cultivation events, including scheduling meetings, travel and logistics

Strategy and Business Development:

  • Responsible for strategic vision for developing HNI and UHNI relationships, donor mapping and closing large stewardships for Plaksha.
  • Contribute to strategic planning in developing long term business relationships and partnerships with individuals, corporates, multi-laterals, foundations, trusts and other public and private sectors in the US
  • Develop and maintain specialized knowledge and information on Plaksha’s programs, projects, and priority areas and set up proposal pricing methodologies and strategies
  • Direct major gift prospects strategy, solicit gifts and make referrals to the CEO and Board members regarding solicitation of prospective or active donors.

Qualifications

A TYPICAL APPLICANT WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Has a highly developed network of patrons for funding Universities and knowledge institutions in the private sector, government, and foundations.
  • Past experience and fundraising record of closing 7 figure sales in the corporate or not for profit areas and wants to use his or her entrepreneurial skills for Plaksha’s advancement
  • Outgoing and tenacious entrepreneurial thinker for a versatile job in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven track record of individual and team fundraising in a highly competitive environment
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Expert in the use of Salesforce and MS Office
  • Minimum 20-year experience in a job which required engaging with HNIs
  • Minimum Bachelor's degree
  • Must have legal status to work in the US
