We have been called “the leading voice for Wall Street accountability” in Washington.

AFREF’s climate policy work is aimed at creating a more sustainable, ethical, and equitable
financial system that helps solve rather than exacerbate the climate crisis. We advocate for
changes to the rules to improve access to financial services and consumer protections for
communities and households responding to the climate crisis–in ways that promote racial and
economic justice–as well as rules around sustainable investing integrity, climate-friendly
banking, and systemic climate risk mitigation. We develop policy proposals, communication and
mobilization strategies, and engage with regulators, with the Administration and with members
of Congress.

The Climate Justice Policy Analyst will work with other AFREF policy and campaign staff to
develop and implement policy strategies to use financial regulation to advance our policy goals
at the intersection of climate justice, environmental justice, and racial justice. Their work will
include leading AFREF’s engagement in a new coalition focused on centering justice and
combating racialized climate impacts in climate finance, and delivering outsized benefits to
historically marginalized communities, particularly Black communities. They will also be
responsible for building relationships with and engaging with new partners working on climate
