The Legion of Christ, North America, is pleased to invite applicants for the position of the Direct Mail/Mass Program Director. Regnum Christi is an ecclesial movement within the Catholic Church and is a federation made up of the Legionaries of Christ, Lay Consecrated Men and Women and lay members working together to advance the mission. The Legionaries of Christ must raise their own support for their important mission in the Church. Therefore, it is imperative that we execute a dynamic, results driven fundraising plan to support and build the mission.
The Direct Mail/Mass Program Director is expected to build upon the base of support of our benefactors and increase the number of Direct Mail and Mass Program donors. He/she will report directly to the Chief Development Officer (CDO), and he/she will work in the execution of a “next-stage vision.” The Director, in supporting the vision of the CDO will build upon his/her deep understanding of the philanthropic landscape to cultivate and identify opportunities for prospective benefactors to meaningfully engage with and support the mission of the Legion of Christ and Regnum Christi.
The Legion of Christ seeks a professional with a minimum of 5 years of demonstrated success in development, project management, philanthropy, or relevant experience in strategic planning/business development. He/she will be a strong communicator, collaborator and gifted storyteller and exude joy in accompanying the team and in bringing prospective donors to the mission.
The Challenge Ahead
We have developed and demonstrated a Direct Mail in- house and acquisition fundraising model as well as a demonstrated web-based Mass program and moving forward we need to implement a strategic plan to expand the use of social media in conjunction with print mail to increase our donor base and establish a more comprehensive program.
Opportunities Facing the New Director
The experienced, creative Director will execute and manage a plan in primary support of the Legionaries of Christ. This person will lead and manage the Direct mail/Mass Program stewardship and growth of donors including the pursuit of new donors and funding opportunities.
· The Director is an integral member of the Executive Team and will report directly to the CDO.
· The Director will work in partnership with the Chief of Staff (COS).
· Management and Strategic Planning and Oversight of the Direct Mail/Mass Program team
o Responsible for a Direct Mail/Mass Program revenue plan of $1.0 million annually
o Leads and develops the team, currently one (1) Development Officer and one (1) part-time Mass Program assistant
o Empowers team members to be successful in their respective role while achieving their development goals.
o Provides support to the CDO and COS as necessary to develop and implement communications, policies and procedures.
o Collaborates with the CDO to create and implement a comprehensive annual fundraising plan to achieve budgeted goals and strategies.
o Promotes and supports a strong development culture of harmony and professionalism, commitment to mission.
o Responsible for prospect management to identify new sources of support, including identification and cultivation of new potential gift donors.
o Conducts regular data analysis across the business to ensure discovery, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship goals are met.
o Analyzes reviews and updates on data reports as they regard performance of the team.
o Works closely with print and creative teams to develop and implement appeals
Qualifications of the Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be first and foremost committed to the mission of the Legion of Christ and Regnum Christi and possess the energy, zeal and discipline to reach more donors and build for the future. He/She will be experienced in motivating and supporting a harmonious team culture that is results driven. While no one person can have all the following attributes, the expectation will be that they exude many of these qualities:
· Foundational Requirements
o Minimum 5 years of demonstrated experience and proven record of results in development, donor relationships and fundraising or commensurate experience in business development, strategic planning, and client engagement responsibilities.
o A profound understanding of what moves development strategy and the capability to design and execute donor-centric engagement activities.
o Strong background and proven performance in project management
o Experience with developing and implementing a collaborative social media strategy
o The professional and emotional intelligence to work with high-level leaders, professional staff and volunteers.
o Appreciation and ability to evaluate and analyze data, including navigation of databases and online resources. Knowledge of and experience using Salesforce preferred
o Flexibility to travel (typically one out of town trip per quarter)
o Excels at working independently and as part of a leadership team
o Experience in supporting and leading a strong healthy, respectful and charitable culture
o Position is based in Roswell, GA, but allows for hybrid home/office work

Compensation and Benefits: Competitive Director level salary, commensurate with experience, along with a comprehensive benefit plan.
