POSITION OVERVIEW
Bay Area Women’s and Children’s Center seeks a dynamic, visionary and strategic Executive Director to build on 40+ years of impact and move the organization to the next chapter. The Executive Director will maintain authentic relationships and partnerships with community leaders, school staff, governmental entities, donors, Board Members, staff, and volunteers. The Executive Director will work closely and collaboratively with the Board of Directors to provide compassionate leadership and advocacy for all who are served by BAWCC.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
The Executive Director works closely with the Board of Directors and has a team of five part-time staff members who report directly to them.
OPPORTUNITY HIGHLIGHTS
Salary range is $110,000 - $130,000
Benefits include:
o Medical and dental paid 100% for employee by BAWCC

o PTO is 80 hours for years 0-4

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership + Management
Partner successfully with the Board of Directors and staff to fulfill the organization’s mission.
Lead and nurture relationships with key stakeholders in the community.
Drive challenges to solutions with a positive, proactive attitude.
Serve as an ally and advocate to all community members, including clients and administrative staff of the Tenderloin Community School and Family Center.
Program Development + Community Engagement
Collaborate with staff and Board to assess current community needs.
In partnership with key stakeholders, develop and execute a plan to expand programmatic outreach.
Engage and immerse in the Tenderloin community; convene with clients, neighbors, and other community leaders on a frequent basis.
Work closely with the Tenderloin Community School and San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD) to assure ongoing collaborative relationships.
Financial Planning + Fundraising
Provide general oversight of the organization’s contributed revenue activities and operations, and plan, monitor, and review the success of activities through coordination with the Board of Directors and staff.
Identify, cultivate and steward donors to grow annual donor base.
Maintain current knowledge of fundraising/communications best practices and share knowledge with staff
Continue to provide quarterly reports to donors about progress toward goals in service of the mission.
COMPETENCIES
Five or more years of progressively challenging experience as a nonprofit leader. Experience working in social services desired
BA or equivalent work experience desired
Entrepreneurial, tenacious leader who inspires others to do their best in service of the community
Demonstrated success working directly with Board Members and donors
Knowledge of and familiarity with the Tenderloin community, lived experience preferred
Expertise in developing and implementing impactful programs
Experience as an effective advocate for low-income communities, human rights, and social justice
Strong interpersonal, listening, verbal and public speaking skills
Proven success as a skilled project and program manager.
Ability to effectively create and manage budgets and resources
Demonstrated skills in public speaking, networking, and community relations
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite is required
Enthusiasm and passion for the mission of BAWCC
Desired skills: fluency in Spanish
