Hybrid (This position will be based in our New York City office with significant remote work flexibility offered through the GIIN’s hybrid in-person/remote work model.)
The GIIN is widely recognized for its dedication to increasing the scale and effectiveness of impact investing around the world. It does this by building critical infrastructure and supporting activities, education, and research that help accelerate the development of a coherent impact investing industry.
As part of this mission, the GIIN is exploring an exciting line of work that aims to develop a globally accredited qualification for skills and competencies that set the bar for embedded impact analysis and management within an investment team. This includes the integrity codes by which an impact analyst/manager functions; and the required level of excellence that impact analyst/manager executes throughout the investment cycle (and beyond).
Thus, we are currently seeking a full-time Manager, Training & Accreditation to join the team. This position will directly report to the Chief Research Officer, the GIIN’s executive member responsible for leading this Program initiative
The Manager, Training and Accreditation will execute the Training and Accreditation strategy. Examples of responsibilities include:
- Setting priority focus areas, work plans and timelines for delivery of the Training & Accreditation strategy as well as its growth.
- Support the GIIN’s executive member responsible for this Program to develop partnerships with key accreditation and examination bodies to scale (or distribute) a professional Impact Investment Analyst (IIA) qualification.
- Execute a stakeholder engagement process (mainly among The GIIN’s membership and selected stakeholder organizations) that will elicit 1) technical learning outcomes (a Qualifications Framework) for accreditation of the qualification; 2) beneficial requirements for educators that will inform a Train the Trainer program; and 3) a stakeholder informed Code of Ethical Practice for impact investors.
- Develop and test facilitator and teaching guides for the introductory module as well as the Train the Trainor program.
- Refine and deliver an introductory module on Impact Investing basics that acts to socialize attendees to additional skills required to execute the functions of an IIA and/or impact portfolio manager.
- Deliver ‘knowledge-building’ sessions (including the aforementioned introductory module) in various contexts.
- Help refine a strategy to develop a global repository of teaching case studies.
- Coordinate the development of teaching case studies through various institutions.
- Support fund-raising and revenue development efforts to enable the sustainability of the strategy.
- Additional responsibilities as needed.

Compensation: Competitive compensation commensurate with experience. Salary range for this role is between $67,000 to $71,000.

The Manager, Training & Accreditation must be steeped in learning as a mechanism to advance practice, be an analytical, organized, resourceful, and responsible individual with a high degree of professionalism. The Manager, Training & Accreditation must also be adaptive, collaborative, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in developing tertiary level learning programs, material and teaching, and an interest in impact investing.
- Strong conviction that skills acquisition can effectively set a bar for consistent and ethical practice in investment processes.
- Undergraduate degree in related field (e.g., Business, Economics, Finance, International Development, Policy) and preferably a post graduate qualification in teaching and learning practice.
- At least two years’ experience in a teaching and learning environment that includes teaching and material/program development.
- Strong understanding of Qualifications Frameworks and setting of examinations standards.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills (e.g., interviews, convening, drawing salient ideas out, and garnering stakeholder support and continued interest).
- Strong writing skills, including ability to synthesize, effectively communicate, and teach complex ideas.
- Strong ability to write teaching case studies, and trainer guides.
- Creative thinking skills; a proactive approach to solving problems.
- Genuine curiosity and a strong learning orientation.
- Interest in the world of investing and capital markets is helpful.
