Job Description

The School Partnership Coach is a resident expert in Flamboyan's REAL Family Engagement approach and is responsible for coaching a portfolio of DC public and public charter schools, ensuring that family engagement practices are embedded within a school’s culture and practice so that DC families whose children attend partner schools feel a sense of belonging, have a strong partnership with their child’s educators, and maintain a trusting relationship with their child’s school from Pre-K through high school.  You will guide up to 12 school teams to plan, lead, and implement effective and sustainable REAL family engagement practices. Because of your close proximity to schools and communities, your work will be a frequent source of Flamboyan’s most innovative tools, resources, training, and products. Deeply committed to racial equity, you will focus on elevating the agency and voices of people and communities most impacted by inequity. Internally, you will actively contribute to Flamboyan’s coaching community of practice and share best practices to support the organization’s overall portfolio of school and district partnerships.  Additionally, you will collaborate closely with the training team to inform the evolution and relevance of training content and proactive and reactive public-facing resources; and the external affairs team to amplify Flamboyan’s impact and learnings.

Content Knowledge + Expertise

 

 

You have 4-6 years of experience working in a school | You carry a deep belief in – and ideally proximity to or lived experience with – the principles of REAL Family Engagement | You understand barriers that educators face | You can talk about your “why” and connection to education in an authentic and compelling way.

Project Management

 

 

You can successfully project manage an initiative from beginning to conclusion, bringing together a variety of internal and external stakeholders to do so | You have experience capturing and codifying lessons learned for institutional knowledge and future planning | You are a planner and have created approachable systems that help keep you efficient | You have served a coordinating or lead function for a project or initiative that requires multiple internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of relevant professional experience.
  • School-based experience required, with education experience in Washington, DC preferred.
  • Teacher leadership, instructional coaching, or other leadership preferred.
  • Preference will be given to those who have familiarity with Flamboyan’s Family Engagement Partnership and/or who have served on school-based Family Engagement Leadership Teams (FELT).
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
