Triage Cancer is seeking a candidate for our Board who is passionate about our mission and believes in our work. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about using their expertise, experience, and networks to help the organization build sustainability and advance our goal of helping individuals diagnosed with cancer and their caregivers.
The Board supports the work of Triage Cancer and provides mission-based leadership, development support, and strategic governance. Day-to-day operations are led by Triage Cancer’s CEO and COO. Board member responsibilities include:
Development & Fundraising
So that Triage Cancer can credibly solicit contributions from foundations, organizations, and individuals, Triage Cancer expects to have 100 percent of Board Members make an annual contribution that is commensurate with their capacity.
Triage Cancer board members are asked to give an amount that is personally meaningful of at least $500 and meet an additional minimum fundraising commitment of $2,500. This fundraising commitment can be met in several different ways (e.g., raising money by hosting a house party, inviting people to attend a Triage Cancer fundraising event, online fundraising, sending out an “End of Year” appeal to your networks, personal contributions, employer matching contributions, assisting in securing a donation or sponsorship from a company, etc.). The fundraising commitment is prorated for board members who join the board during the middle of the year.

As a Triage Cancer board member, you will have the opportunity to grow personally and professionally, using your skills and expertise to further provide individuals diagnosed with cancer and their caregivers with their best path forward, beyond diagnosis.
In this role, you will act as a fundamental catalyst driving positive change in support of Triage Cancer’s mission. Board members lend their unique perspectives to the role while also gaining insight from a diverse group of fellow board members, representing a variety of different backgrounds. There will be numerous opportunities to hone your skills in areas such as leadership, fundraising, and advocacy.
