The Network Director of Out of School Time and Athletics will be responsible for creating and driving the Grow-the-Whole Child Model to drive exceptional outcomes for students, families, and staff. The Network Director of Out of School Time and Athletics reports directly to the Managing Director of Programs and works closely with the other members of the Management team.

Responsibilities:

  • Program Quality and Curriculum:
  • Ensure high quality Out of School Time (Afterschool and Summer) Programming by supporting design of systems and structures for curriculum codification and implementation
  • Lead Program Quality Observation Cycle to maximize impact of programming and ensure outcomes are met
  • Design and uphold OST and athletic program structures and routines aligned with network vision
  • Support creation of curriculum management system to ensure network-wide alignment and curriculum fidelity in OST
  • Program Operations:
  • Drive strategy for network recruitment and outreach plans to meet afterschool and summer enrollment targets by leveraging DREAM's extended-day, extended-year value proposition
  • Establish, train, and ensure adherence to Network Part-Time Staff systems and protocols; including clearance protocols and Part-Time staff attendance
  • Drive network strategy for Part-Time staff engagement and retention
  • Train, review and provide feedback to OST and Athletic Directors on OST/Athletic program procedures and protocols (including late/early pick up, transition to program, dismissal, transitions, snack, bathroom, hallway procedures, athletics spectator policy, injury protocols etc.)
  • Create and manage OADs on execution of "start of program" project plan and check-lists
  • Set and manage OST program budgets, procurement processes
  • Create Recommendation OST PT staffing structure (afterschool, summer)
  • Establish and uphold OST attendance protocols to ensure all OST attendance metrics are met across the network
  • Manage OST and Athletic Directors across the network to uphold all of DREAM's safety protocols
  • Effective Teaming:
  • Provide positive, collaborative leadership and participate in collegial problem-solving in a variety of situations and departments
  • Cultivate and manage summer community partnerships
  • Serve as Liaison to Talent on all hiring/selection processes for PT staff
  • Professional Development
  • Collaborate with School Principals to Coach and Develop OADs on increasing Program Quality and impact (Weekly walkthrough + Coaching)
  • Manage and support network OADs in meeting annual program goals
  • Effectively manager network OST and Athletic; including Senior Manager of Athletics and Senior Manager of OST Programs meeting annual program goals

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree, required; Masters Degree in Education and/or School Administration, preferred
  • Extensive leadership experience with a record of achievement in SEL and Health and Wellness outcomes for all children. School leadership experience preferred
  • Deep knowledge of best practices in positive youth development and childhood development
  • Expert knowledge, understanding and experience in developing curriculum, instruction, assessment, and professional development systems
  • Supervisory and leadership development experience, collaborating with school leaders, instructional staff, teachers and Part-time staff
  • Willingness to be hands-on and do whatever it takes to develop and maintain excellent programs
  • A drive to succeed and achieve great results on behalf of students, especially those furthest from opportunity
  • A successful record leading effective teams and individuals, managing organizational change and initiating key innovations
  • A strong analytic, performance management, accountability, and systems-thinking orientation necessary to inform strategy development and execution
  • An ability to connect with a diverse group of people and build strong relationships grounded in listening and high levels of challenge and support
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to convey complex information to a variety of audiences
  • A strong belief in the mission and values of DREAM, including the desire to make a difference in the lives of our students, families, and community.

Compensation:

  • DREAM offers a competitive salary commensurate with relevant experience with the potential for an annual performance-based increase. The incoming salary range for this position is $115,000 to $125,000 per year. New hires are typically brought into the organization at a salary closer to the start of the range depending on qualifications and internal equity. All staff are eligible for annual performance-based increases. Because we value staff tenure in each role, we do not currently cap salary ranges.
  • We offer a comprehensive benefits plan, covering the majority of the employee premium for medical plans and subsidizing the majority of costs for a spouse/domestic partner and children.
