Job Description

APPLICATIONS

The Weston, Massachusetts School Committee welcomes applications from candidates who hold, or are qualified to hold, a Massachusetts Administrative Certificate for Superintendent.  The School Committee has set up a website for public information on the process, timeline and expectations: https://www.westonschools.org/school-committee/permanent-superintendent-search/

Your application materials should include:

  • A cover letter describing your qualifications, professional experience, personal or professional community building experience, and reasons for your interest in and fit for the position.
  • A current resume.
  • Three letters of reference.
  • Documentation of your highest university degree (i.e., transcript, diploma, etc.).
  • Verification that the candidate holds or is qualified to hold a MA Administrative Certificate as a Superintendent of Schools.

All materials will be acknowledged and treated confidentially.  Applications will be reviewed and assessed by the Application Screening Subcommittee which will forward semi-finalists to a confidential Preliminary Interview Subcommittee for an in-person initial interview scheduled for October 26 or 27. The names of finalists will be forwarded to and made public at their October 30 School Committee meeting. The School Committee plans to complete the public meeting and interview process by their December 6 public meeting.

TIMELINE

The Weston School Committee anticipates the selection of the successful candidate at their December 4, 2023 School Committee meeting, with contract negotiations concluded by the end of the 2023 calendar year. The contract start date will be not later than July 1, 2024.
