NEIGHBOR BY NEIGHBOR (NbyN) is a Section 501c3 qualified not-for-profit corporation serving the needs of the impoverished in and around the Harbor Country area of Southwest MI. NbyN seeks to help clients move from dependence to independence both through direct assistance and programming and by connecting them with needed services offered through other private and government organizations. Created only five years ago, NbyN is rapidly evolving from a “grassroots” start-up to a mature institution serving the ever-growing needs of our communities with a half-million-dollar annual budget.
Reporting to the NbyN Board of Directors, the Executive Director will have the opportunity to shape the strategic direction of Neighbor by Neighbor. This involves setting long-term goals, expanding programs, and identifying new funding sources. Developing a comprehensive strategy to enhance the organization’s reach and effectiveness will be a key focus.
The Executive Director will be the public face of NbyN and will build and nurture relationships with local businesses, government agencies, and other non-profits. Leading efforts to secure funding through grants, donations, and fundraising events will be a primary responsibility.
The leader we seek will be an energetic, compassionate, and creative Executive Director who will carry out our core mission while leading the ongoing transition to long-term institutional sustainability. The ED position will involve operation oversight, strategic planning, fundraising, collaboration with local private and public organizations, and the ability to meaningfully connect with our rural communities.
Neighbor by Neighbor is an equal opportunity employer. We encourage applications from all individuals regardless of age, gender, race, ethnicity, religion, or sexual orientation, and evaluate all candidates based on merit.
