The National Board for Health and Wellness Coaching is leading the advancement of health and wellness coaching by establishing professional standards and collaborative partnerships.
The National Board for Health & Wellness Coaching (NBHWC) mission is to champion the advancement of health and wellness coaching through evidence-informed standards of education, training, credentialing and research. We have collaborated with the National Board of Medical Examiners (NBME) since 2016 to provide a robust board certification examination which has led to more than 11,000 National Board Certified Health & Wellness Coaches that hold the NBC-HWC credential. The esteemed NBC-HWC credential represents training, education, and assessment standards, allowing for the profession to advance in all aspects of healthcare and wellness.
The National Board for Health & Wellness Coaching (NBHWC) is overseen by a board of directors, and supported by committees composed of volunteers and staff members who seek to advance the profession of health and wellness coaching. NBHWC envisions a world where all people have the opportunity to thrive, including with the support of qualified health and wellness coaches.
The Executive Director (ED) will serve as a visionary, strategic, and innovative leader who will drive the long-term growth and success of NBHWC. The ED assumes a pivotal role in overseeing the comprehensive administration, programs, strategic initiatives, and operations of the organization. The ED is tasked with guiding the organization's growth and development, and ensuring adherence to the organization's mission and vision while driving forward its strategic objectives. The ED will lead our team of 5 full-time staff members and be accountable for the development and execution of the organization's strategic plan. In addition, the ED will serve as the external face of the organization and design and execute the organization's external communication and engagement strategy.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone who has deep experience creating systems, structures, and processes to further develop and enhance the way an organization functions; who has previously worked closely with a Board of Directors; and who has participated in or led a strategic planning process.
