We build their capacity to protect and advance civil rights, convene and connect them on key issues, and provide legal representation to help them win in court for residents. Since 2017, we've recovered over $46 million in relief for marginalized people; built a network of over 1,300 government offices and community-based organizations in 50 states; trained 130 prosecutors and government lawyers in 24 states; and secured court victories on abortion, immigrant, workers', and voting rights.

Public Rights Project is looking for a strong team player to join us as the Director of Institutional Giving and grow our work with a broad spectrum of foundations investing in our work. This individual will develop and execute strategies to prospect, cultivate, solicit, and steward institutional funders on behalf of PRP's strategic priorities and serve as the lead grant proposal and report writer for the team.
A natural and collegial team player, the successful candidate will have a demonstrated track record of working collaboratively in foundation relations, with an eye toward designing and executing on a robust fundraising strategy across foundations. Working closely with the Chief Development Officer and Senior Development Manager, and external consultants as needed, this person will help design and execute a fundraising plan to grow institutional funding from $5.6 million to $7.6 million in 2025, a 36% increase.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned fundraising professional and strong writer with a proven track record of growing grant revenue. This is a great opportunity for an equity-focused leader passionate about advancing civil rights by working with local governments.
The salary range for this role is $135,000 - $170,000.
