EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The Flint Institute of Arts (FIA) is the second largest art museum in Michigan and one of the largest museum-connected community art schools in the United States. Through their exhibitions, events, and programs, they seek to connect diverse communities through fun, creative, and inspiring visual art experiences.
FIA now seeks nominations and applications for its next Director of Finance and Administration. This Director will have the opportunity to oversee the financial health and processes of the organization, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and compliance. They will also oversee the Facilities and Security Departments, as well as IT contractors. This role works closely with the Executive Director (reporting directly to them) and with management teams to support informed financial decision-making and maintain regulatory adherence.
ABOUT FLINT INSTITUTE OF THE ARTS
For 90+ years, the FIA has been responsible for acquiring, protecting, and presenting a collection of art and artifacts spanning the globe. The world-renowned collection, which exceeds 8,500 objects, is significant for its depth of important European and American paintings and sculptures, 15th century to the present, and its extensive holdings of decorative and applied arts including important ethnographic study collections dating back five millennia. The FIA promotes the power of the visual arts by providing lifelong learning opportunities to engage and educate a diverse regional audience.
Through its collections and exhibitions, studio art classes, educational and family programs, community outreach, events, and collaborations, the Flint Institute of Arts Museum + Art School strives to be known locally, nationally, and internationally as an outstanding center for the visual arts.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
While no one candidate will possess all the qualifications listed below, the ideal candidate will be passionate about the Flint Institute of Arts’ mission and bring many of the following skills and experiences:
Education/Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in financial management roles.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, audit processes, fund accounting, and compliance requirements.
• Experience with non-profits preferred, but not required.

Salary and Benefits: The salary range for this full-time, exempt position is $80,000 - $90,000 annually, with a generous benefits package.
