BOSTON MARCH 12, 2021
Organizations and job seekers in the nonprofit, philanthropy, and mission-driven sectors now have a new resource, with Impact Opportunity's site launch. The site offers a job board and content resource specifically for mission-driven organizations and individuals seeking careers that make a significant difference in the world.
Impact Opportunity (http://www.ImpactOpportunity.org) is an excellent destination for finding high-impact roles at nonprofits, foundations, social enterprises, B Corps, and other mission-driven companies. Founded by nonprofit industry veteran Lindsay O'Connell, the site's job board enables mission-driven organizations to recruit for full and part-time jobs, board of director positions, interns, volunteers, and contractors. Organizations can create an enhanced employer profile that includes a logo and mission statement and list job postings in any location worldwide, including remote location/work from home. Organizations will soon be able to search candidate profiles for those interested in a mission-driven career, among other features.
Candidates can create a profile, upload their resume, save jobs, and opt to receive a free resume review and job alerts that match their preferences.
"We're excited to offer quality resources and insights for employers and candidates essential to the growth and rebound of the economy and support the mission-driven sector as a whole," O'Connell said.
The U.S. Labor Department reported 379,000 jobs added in February 2021, the most since October 2020. "Nonprofit organizations provide meaningful and fulfilling career opportunities at a variety of levels," O'Connell said, "including opportunities for those who want to make the switch from corporate to a social impact role."
Before launching Impact Opportunity, O'Connell served as Director, Engagement & Marketing at The Bridgespan Group, a nonprofit that provides management consulting to nonprofits and philanthropists. She ran the organization's nonprofit job board for 15 years, among other responsibilities.
She also has experience serving an executive search company that focuses on nonprofits and mission-driven companies and served on the board of a Boston-area emergency meal program for several years.
"Nonprofit employment and leadership are crucial to promoting a more equitable, just society. We're committed to continuing to provide opportunities to those who want to be a part of the good work facilitated by these organizations and those who want to help create meaningful change in the world," O'Connell said.
