The Planned Giving & Estates Attorney is responsible for overseeing approximately 250 open estates to ensure timely and complete receipt bequests to Hadassah. Additionally, the Estates Attorney works with donors and their advisors and collaborates with major gift staff and volunteers to secure planned gifts.
Duties and Responsibilities
Oversee approximately 250 open estates in which Hadassah is a named beneficiary of wills, trusts and other deferred planned giving instruments. Analyze estate court pleadings including inventories, accountings, statements of assets, and estate tax returns.
Track estates from receipt of notice to receipt of final distribution to Hadassah. Ensure timely receipt of anticipated distributions from estates, including following up as needed (via phone, email and/or letter) with proper parties.
