The Future of Life Institute is a non-profit working to mitigate existential and global catastrophic risks from powerful technologies, particularly artificial intelligence, through policy and outreach. Our work includes advocating for better policymaking on emerging technologies in the US and abroad, providing grants for existential risk reduction and AI safety research, running academic conferences, and performing public outreach.
