PIVOT, the Vietnamese American Progressive Organization, works to engage and empower Vietnamese Americans for a just and diverse America.

The vision of PIVOT is to be a collective voice for progressive Vietnamese Americans, to engage and empower Vietnamese Americans through civic engagement and leadership development, and to support policies and candidates that are aligned with our values.

We aim to achieve our mission and vision through:

• Serving as a reliable source of information by providing thoughtful and fair analyses of domestic policies important to Vietnamese Americans and disseminating these analyses through traditional media, social media, and social networks.
• Working together with Vietnamese Americans of all ages and with other communities to promote a common agenda that include:
  • Promotion and support of human, civil, immigrant, and refugee rights;
  • Increasing cultural, linguistic, and financial access to quality education, health care, and economic opportunities; and
  • Protecting the environment.
• Increasing the participation of Vietnamese Americans in the voting process at local, state, and national levels.
• Identifying, training, and supporting Vietnamese Americans and other individuals with progressive values to obtain policy and political positions at the local, state, and national levels.
• Investing resources in mentoring and training initiatives for young Vietnamese Americans.
