Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth

Our Mission: The Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth identifies, develops, and supports the diverse community of academically advanced pre-college learners, in partnership with their families, teachers, and other educators worldwide.

Our Vision: CTY furthers research, guides educators and families, and inspires students from diverse communities and backgrounds to pursue their intellectual passions and create the world of tomorrow.

Our Values: We believe pre-college, academically talented learners:

  • Require strategically planned educational experiences to address their specific strengths and interests, including opportunities for social/emotional development, to flourish intellectually.
  • Exist in all communities and across all student populations, irrespective of race, culture, gender identity and expressions, twice exceptionality, and community income level.
  • Need to be challenged academically in positive learning environments that encourage them to explore with peers with similar intellectual capacity and to be confident lifelong learners.

And we believe in researching and advancing ways to identify and nurture academically talented learners and to share that knowledge with communities around the world.
