Marketing Manager

We are currently seeking a Marketing Manager for our Marketing & Communications team. Candidates must be passionate about and committed to Pivot’s mission and vision. They should be adept at communicating with different audiences across multiple channels and have excellent workplace communication abilities (listening, speaking, and writing). Candidates should also have solid coordination and collaboration skills with the ability to build strong and positive relationships with teammates and external clients.
This is a full-time, exempt position, reporting to the Marketing & Communications Director. Pivot is currently a virtual organization, with the majority of staff based in California. Candidates for this position can be based anywhere in the US, and this is a remote role based out of your home office. This position will require occasional travel to client sites across the country and periodic travel to Pivot internal meetings and events.
Manage social media for multiple brands, including paid social media
Coordinate and help develop multi-channel marketing campaigns, including planning, messaging, audience segmentation and targeting, email and landing page copywriting and design, asset development, ads, testing, quality assurance, tracking, analytics, reporting, and data-driven continuous improvement
Maintain multiple websites, including routine updates, content development, and coordinating with internal and external partners
Coordinate and help develop communications and marketing deliverables, including collateral, blogs, reports, videos, ads, and other marketing assets
Maintain and update contact databases and database integrations
Conduct and synthesize research on audiences, target markets, keywords, metadata, influencers, competitors, partners, and vendors
Support internal and external coordination and project management, including developing and tracking project plans, communicating with project partners, and managing internal processes and systems
Support virtual and in-person meetings and events, including webinars
Support budget tracking, file management, data analysis, and reporting
Participate in internal committees and initiatives, as desired
Other duties as assigned

A deep understanding of institutional and structural racism and bias and how inequitable systems impact outcomes for students most underserved by our education system
Proven social media and digital marketing experience and impact
Proven communications writing and editing ability, including copywriting
Solid project management skills, including the capacity to develop plans and manage resources and the ability to prioritize, organize, and handle multiple tasks with a high level of attention to detail
Strong verbal and written communication ability
A strong collaboration orientation with the capacity to cultivate and maintain professional, positive, and productive relationships with our internal teams and external partners
Dependable, proactive, and highly efficient with assigned work
Proficiency with Adobe InDesign and Illustrator, WordPress CMS (including a basic understanding of HTML and CSS), Google Analytics, email marketing, Microsoft Office, and Google Suite; Familiarity with Google Adwords and HubSpot a plus
Bachelor’s degree required; 4+ years of relevant experience, ideally including experience in public education
