Washington Heights and Inwood Music Community Charter School, (“WHIN Music Community School” or “WHIN”) is a music-based elementary charter school in Washington Heights NYC that serves approximately 350 students in grades K-6. The mission of WHIN is to provide our diverse student populations with rigorous academic instruction, intensive music education, and a positive learning environment so that every student can thrive academically and personally. Founded in 2016, WHIN is the first school in the world that was founded on El Sistema, a distinctive social program that was founded in Venezuela that encourages youth to be assets within their community.
