Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Administrative Assistant is a one-year contract position based in the San Francisco Bay Area. This role will provide support in two primary areas: Executive Assistant (EA) support to the Executive Director (ED) during the new parent leave of the current EA (approx. 8 months and transition periods), and events coordination support. PEN America, a nonprofit organization working at the intersection of literature and human rights, seeks a consultant to support the work of Los Angeles team’s scheduled public programming and its week-long Emerging Voices workshop in December 2024, from September 2024-January 2025. This consultancy, estimated to require a minimum of 30 hours/week, will be contracted for four months, with the possibility of extending for one to two additional months. The Los Angeles office works a hybrid schedule, two-days remote and three-days in-person in our Hollywood offices.
