PEN America, a nonprofit organization working at the intersection of literature and human rights, seeks a dynamic and results-oriented program manager of U.S. journalist safety to lead our work supporting journalists and media professionals, as well as their allies and employers, amidst an increasingly hostile environment for press freedom in the U.S. This is a full-time, union-eligible position based at PEN America’s New York City headquarters; applicants based in Washington, D.C. will also be considered. Job Summary As a key member of the program team, the Program Officers ensure ECMC Foundation deploys grants and investments to support project-based and reform-oriented efforts aimed at advancing systemic change to improve postsecondary persistence and degree completion for students from underserved backgrounds.
